Rodney Thompson

President, Accent Engineering & Construction Services Inc.

Rod Thompson is a native of New York and over twenty years of extensive first hand knowledge and experience in the construction industry. Rod was the founder of Accurate Engineering, and currently as consultant.

Rod showed an interest in construction at an early age, and completed electrical and mechanical courses in high school at vocational extension programs.  Immediately after graduating high school, Rod joined the U.S. NAVY and was stationed in San Diego. While in the NAVY, Rod became an E-5 Petty Officer supervising a production electrical machine shop and completed electrical construction courses in the U.S. NAVY Class A Service School.  After being honorably discharged, Rod completed his BS degree in Engineering and accepted a position as the Construction & Maintenance Manager with a membrane technology firm. After several years in 1994 founded Accurate Engineering… the rest is history!

In addition to the numerous prestigious awards and accolades Accurate Engineering has won, Rod has been awarded a Project Management Certification scholarship sponsored by the City of San Diego at the Purdue University Project Management Institute.  Accurate Engineering and Rod have been featured in fifteen publications including the covers of national Business Advisor Magazine and the San Diego Business Journal.

Rod is also a long time member and supporter of the National Association of Government Contractors (NAGC), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), Builders Trade Association, Associated General Contractors (AGC), Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC) and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

Rod also supports numerous athletic and academic youth programs, and has coached both community basketball and football youth leagues for many years.
